Introduction
Antardristi Nepal is a project run by women with an aim to offer support to sexually abused survivors. Antardristi is the first and only program of its kind in the Kathmandu Valley.
Presently with its two centers, one in Kathmandu and another in Pokhara, it is providing help and support to survivors of sexual abuse. It has an aim of serving approximately 100 minors and young women between the ages of 4 and 19 in 2008 and 2009. Clients are survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation drawn from a wide variety of communities including ethnic minorities, lower-caste groups, street-involved youth, economically disadvantaged minors and women. antardristi Under the supervision of a Residential Centre Manager and care taker, Antardristi is providing trauma counselling and individual counselling aiming to assist them in coping with their trauma and fostering better long term adjustment. Family counselling and empowerment training initiatives will also be undertaken in order to aid immediate family members in coping with their distress and to become a better source of support for their children as well as reintegration into the community and referrals to other community services as needed.
We are currently working to raise money for Antardristi's Outeach Program. The Outreach Program works with schools and community groups to raise awareness about sexual abuse while enabling staff to identify sexual abuse cases. Please help Antardristi continue its important work antardristi in the community by making a donation today to the Antardristi Outreach Program. All funds raised will go towards rescuing children through helping Antardisti achieve their mission - to let children “speak the truth” and say “no” to sexual abuse.
